《环球时报》总编辑胡锡进公开宣布改用华为手机

今天，环球时报总编辑胡锡进发表长微博，宣布个人改用华为手机，并对更换原因作出说明。

Today, I started using a Huawei cell phone.

今天，老胡使用了新款的华为手机。今后我的工作和绝大部分生活事项都会通过这部手机来操作。

It was not because I have been fed up with criticism like "using an iPhone to support Huawei," but because Huawei is being unreasonably suppressed by the US government and I wish to back Huawei. So I became a huafen, fan of the brand.

这不是老胡受不了舆论场挑剔我“用苹果手机发挺华为帖子”，而是因为华为受到美国政府毫无公正可言的打压，老胡出于支持华为的天然愿望，加入到花粉的行列。                                        

I have been a user of iPhone for about nine years. I appreciate the convenience iPhone gave me in my work and daily life. Turning from Apple to Huawei doesn't mean I think it is right to boycott Apple. Apple has contributed to China's development. Open, reforming and strong, China has always been welcoming of foreign companies to participate in China's modernization.

老胡使用苹果手机已经大约9年了，感谢苹果对我工作和生活提供过的种种方便。今天启用华为手机，决不意味着我认为应当抵制苹果。苹果公司是对中国发展做出了贡献的，改革开放且强大起来的中国一直欢迎外国公司对中国现代化的参与，今后也不会变。

There are many loyal users of iPhone in China and I believe they are free to decide the brand of cell phone they use. Such decision-making right should always belong to the individual.

中国有很多果粉，我尤其认为他们有权利继续自主决定使用哪款手机，这样的决定权始终应当属于个人的权利范畴。

Using the same right, I switched from iPhone to Huawei today. While the US spares no efforts to subdue Huawei, out of personal belief, I chose to support the well respected company by using its product.

同样是出于这种个人权利，使得老胡从今天起拿起了华为手机。在华为遭到美国动用国家权力全面打压的时候，我出于个人的情感，以换用华为手机表达对这家备受尊重公司的支持。

I won’t throw away my iPhone, as I thought of making it a supplementary device. But this may require me to apply for another SIM card. I don’t know if it will be simple to do that. 

我换下来的苹果手机也不会扔掉。我希望把它变成一个辅助手机用，但需要再申请一个号，我不知道是否好操作。

I want to emphasize that I back Huawei, but this decision is not extreme or zero-sum.

支持华为，但这种情感在我这里不是激烈而零和的，我想特别强调这一点。
